We need to take the initiative to keep suffering people connected with us. If we tell a survivor to call us when they need something, we will probably not hear back. We need to lovingly pursue them with calls and encouraging notes—invitations that are sensitive to their needs.

Prior to a crisis, it is helpful for pastors and churches to look into local professionals with training and experience in abuse and trauma. Meeting with them and asking about their training is a wise way to care for others prior to an emergency.

Trauma brings silence because it feels like there are no words to really describe what happened. Many times people need us to sit with them in silence. It is a way of joining with them so they are not alone in their experience of struggling to find words.

It seems to me that the president of the US is trying to prove the irrelevance and the harmful effects of a federal government and is trying to make each state independent in all areas that deal with the care of the people. This should lead to less federal taxes and more state ones

I am grieving the heartbreaking lack of respect for the people of the US that the illegal destruction of the West Wing demonstrates, done not by foreigners, but by the man who should be the servant of the people, and a once honourable party becoming more and more utterly corrupt day by day.
