I use the PBS app for this and subscribe for the same amount via PBS passport (and tax deductible). It’s the same content, but without Amazon. It’s the one streaming service that I have no matter what, because even if I don’t watch all the time, it’s supporting a good cause.

My husband and I had to do the same recently with a friend. We saw rocky horror with them (they had never seen it), and he remarked how he didn’t know the pink triangle in LGBT media was referencing the movie, and we were like “dude…that’s from WWII…” he had NO IDEA

I deleted Facebook last week because I don’t enjoy it and it actively reminds me how awful my family is. When they launch ads on threads I will move fully to Bluesky. Insta is harder because I don’t use it for news really, it’s purely a hobbies outlet to me and gives me a lot of joy.

My doctor today told me to wait because she wanted to write me a letter for light duty at work. I got my arm brace and promptly left. I’ve been sitting at home all evening and just remembered 🤦‍♀️

And I feel like main characters in that show get so few happy endings, I really wanted one for her. My husband said he isn’t watching it with me anymore because they insist on terrorizing Trixie lol

Oh I loved her! I know the actress wanted to leave the show but I wish they hadn’t killed the character.

When it’s on, mine is “a little less conversation” by Elvis. My husband is the only one with an assigned tone and it’s “can’t help falling in love”

My spouse and I had this talk last night, and unfortunately, I think the short term answer may be no where right now. Our information ecosystems are almost entirely owned by billionaires with no incentive to give us good journalism. I don’t think this will be forever though, but it is the right now.

One of my coworkers also works as an usher at a theater here, and he has said the shows he dreads the most are musicals because the crowd gets absolutely hammered. He swears no one drinks like musical theater people.

The only ORIGINAL product from meta that zuck created is Facebook, which is arguably its worst product, and you can make a good case that zuck didn’t REALLY create Facebook. He’s basically a nerdy venture capitalist.
