Can superimposing images of lovers and buildings express how devastation and the acceptance of loss are part of life?
Here's how and why I attempted this for my #poem Life Time of Life.

Part 3 of my #writingprocess is up.

Check it out #writesky, and let's discuss here.

Just the thing for people obsessed with the #writingprocess (like me). Loved the sneak peek!
Curious about what makes FAIR COPY unique? For each piece we publish, we include the fair copy, but we ALSO publish a draft from the writing process AND a mini craft essay from the author. Head over to our website to see what we’re showcasing, because your process is our passion!

If the #writingprocess can be divided into three parts, the second part is called Revision (the third Editing), and for me, this is often when the true conception of a piece takes place. This is when I start understanding what it is I’m writing about...
And you? #writesky

Taking the Time Train (Part Two)
A poem’s initial draft is a spark, and it’s your job to ensure it catches fire. For “Life Time of Life” the concept of superimposition flamed the spark.

I have a beef with makeup and the meaning women give it, so snorted at this:
“To those who deeply value what it means to be a woman, spiritually, biologically and emotionally, the rejection of beauty feels like a rejection of womanhood itself.”

Great article!

"The idea of America as a place of abundance, where there was chocolate and food for everyone, was a powerful one."

I've often wondered why Germans born during post-WWII US occupation still fondly remember the sweets soldiers gave them. What a marketing campaign!

The initial draft is a spark, and it’s your job to ensure it catches fire. When you start out as a poet (or writer) you find a lot of information about how to write a poem, but soon you realise…

A #bookquote from Fascism. I've often wondered how many people understand that equality means the privileged need to give up things. Then I see the fear and anger, and wonder are we, the privileged, able to give up (at least some of) our privileges?
