Mood the Obscure
@annalise11af.bsky.social
I like to go for little walks, take pictures of pretty things. I read, I cook, I vote, I hope. I like black cats and light coffee.
God damn! As the child of Mennonites, just sitting here like 🥲 You didn’t lie though.

“The PC police” = “woke mafia.” Haven’t thought of that term for years! But it was the same right wing media pundits pushing it. The scourge of Rush Limbaugh.

This about covers it: bsky.app/profile/moll...
Richest guy in the world telling us we can’t afford to have our government fund cancer research.

Wrong!! 😑 Please do not be this ignorant.

I think T-mobile’s precursor was VoiceStream.

Heartened to see your response to whatever he was talking about was exactly the same as the one in my head, lol

No apologies necessary towards me! These conversations are so fraught, especially online. And I hate that there is always a reason to keep having them. Be well.

Thank you. I’m okay. It’s been years and a lot of trauma work. But people need to KNOW the kind of predators who are out there. Your point that we need to believe victims/survivors is it!

That’s not what is meant by “enabling.” They’re talking about women like my grandma who would arrange to have children stay the night and then leave them alone with my grandpa.

I was prepared to read something completely unhinged and then I was like, oh. Probably wouldn’t have phrased it quite like that myself, but uh, yeah that’s good.

I’m still bummed that my alternative title, “Special Presidential Office of Government Efficiency,” never caught on. The President doesn’t have the authority to create a department.

Appalling! That statement was so much worse than I expected, and I didn’t expect much.

Yes, I don’t think the two can be compared though. As much as asymptomatic airborne spread is indeed a thing, compelling personal respirator wearing is simply not comparable to banning indoor smoking.

It’s cheesy, but public libraries were my portal to the outside world. I still love my public library, and just renewed my card last month!

We’ll just have to agree to disagree then. I think we would have got more masks in high risk settings (medical and other essential settings) by acknowledging that ventilation and small gatherings are lower risk. The perfect is the enemy of the good, and all that.

I do think the “mask at all times” hardliners have added to the erosion of public health measures. Before I left Twitter it was pretty common to see pile-ons by mask activists if a “public” figure appeared anywhere unmasked. This creates resistance to the message even among the sympathetic.
