It's weird that Looking for Alaska is the second-most banned book in the U.S., and mostly challenged by evangelical Christians, because the novel is about Radical Hope and how forgiveness is available to all people at all times, which are Christian concepts I wrote about because I'm a Christian.

Far be it from me to try to get in the heads of book banners, but the list of my books removed from schools makes absolutely no sense. Turtles is widely banned even though it's the least explicit of my novels (the main character is terrified of kissing), whereas TFIOS--where they DO IT--is not...

Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. A better alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform. And before y’all start, you can transfer all your Goodreads data to Storygraph so you literally have no excuse.
