When I've had conversations about this in person, it has always turned into a rich and beautiful exploration. I need to accept that it will never happen online. Only binary response here. It's "hell yeah" or "fuck off." I'm sorry if my pennies interrupted your peace.

I get it. My dad is one of those people and it sucks. He believes, since he had kids late in life, people who don't have kids don't know what they're missing. It's been a long road to get him more open-minded on the subject. None of my friends have kids. I love that for them. It's right.

I'm with you. If "child-free" is the right term to foster social growth andfeels right, that's great. I'm just sharing my feeling because I think it's valuable to understand where everyone is coming from. Personally, I like "person with/without kids," but that's just me throwing it out there.

Accepting bribes and acts of treason are the two things actually spelled out in the Constitution as examples of impeachable acts.
It should be obvious to everyone that now is the time to be a patriot, but Republicans in Congress are the saddest spineless cowards. For shame.

I should make it clear, antisemitism exists in all political spaces. My concern is specifically with facebook's history of misinformation and the way the right is using a narrative of antisemitism to justify dismantling democratic rights, while their own followers are a cesspool of hate.

It seems unnatural to me.
It's not important. I'm nitpicking a term because it's interesting to me. But, kids care. They notice. I just want us to be mindful of that, even if it doesn't change how we speak.

Appreciate that they are so invested in the welfare of kids in general, and especially mine. I guess I just don't want us to forget that kids are people too, and they are getting seriously fucked by the authoritarians right now. I think my fears has just soured me to the term, is all.

I agree! I'm a person with kids. Nobody says child-full. I understand why political/cultural pressure makes us sensitive to the language we use. I don't want language that makes anyone, adults or kids, to feel unworthy or burdensome. I think "with/without" kids accomplishes that.

Most days you have empathy for children, but not all days? You think that more hardship for a child who already qualifies for assistance programs will remedy anything? Do you honestly believe that? I know we're all tired and it's hard not to lash out at these people, but we have to be better.

During my biblical education, I sort of just assumed that a "message from God" meant a trip that made you realize slavery can't be tolerated.

When we say "abolish the prison system," this is what we mean. I'm not inviting lawlessness or suggesting we will never need to sequester people from society. I'm saying our current prison system is so utterly modern-day slavery that we have no choice but to leave it in the past.
