Empirical findings based on current curricula reveal that most German states' curricula rank low to medium in comprehensiveness, yet show significant variability in prescriptiveness, with notable differences among school types.

comprehensiveness (range of topics) & prescriptiveness (level of specification). These indicate how curricula shape reproduction knowledge provision - by introducing varying numbers of topics *and* by specifying what exactly is to be taught with different levels of precisions.
