at best we can say the definition of "rich" is an externally defined feeling/vibe rather than a statistical characteristic. if you're making 105,000/year, your income is higher than 2/3 of all households, and 2/3 of households likely think you're rich even if you don't feel that way

asking this out of genuine confusion: are you suggesting here that when women were entering the workforce, the amount of money a job offered was the most salient factor in determining whether or not *to* work, rather than a second order question about *where* to work?

whatever happened to "giving the bare minimum doesn’t actually count as trying?" reconcile your internal contradictions people. if the bare minimum is good enough, you can’t assert anyone is actually trying. what if instead of giving glosses of what people say online, anyone actually read the books?
