Plus! The concept of compound words means you can freely create words to exactly describe whatever you like, should you not know the exact word you're looking for. Which often leads to wonderful, weirdly specific words 😅

I don't know Dutch, but I often say Swedish (also a Germanic language) is far easier than English too. Once you get over the initial pronunciation battle and figure out HOW certain sounds are made, the rest is often pretty straight forward.

In 1890, the X and Y chromosomes were discovered. It was found that the men who were tested had 46 chromosomes, including an X and a Y, while women who were tested also had 46 chromosomes, including 2 X chromosomes.
So obviously the conclusion was that the Y chromosome defined masculinity.
