Have been standing up for equal rights for all since I was a teen. Not surprised at how many Americans fell for the 24/7 lies of the talking heads on SM & cable news. When you defund the schools, ignorance follows.
Beautiful photo. I can't wait for longer days either. This dawn at 8am & sunset at 330pm starts to wear on a person. This is our rainy/snowy season also so the little time the sun is up is overcast, wet & chilly. But our weather year round is better than the rest of the contiguous US IMO.

I'm envious. Researching & the Blues, are 2 of my loves. The early Delta Blues musicians had an incredibly hard life & still left us this amazing gift of their music.

Seems like Rs get their bullet points on Saturday, hit the Sunday talk shows pushing these points & their SM influencers & podcasters then pick it up & amplify them on SM. By the time Dems weigh in on Monday, the damage has been done by Rs pushing their bull 24 hrs earlier.

Does this mean the businesses that imported the tariffed goods will get the tariff money refunded but us consumers who paid higher prices to that business to cover the tariffs are SOL as far as getting our money back goes? Figures.

Don't forget William Kennedy Smith, a cousin, arrested for rape in Florida in the 90s. Despite evidence of rape, including semen, pain & vaginal bruising, he was acquitted. Multiple accusations of rape came out after this hit the media also. Florida justice has always favored the rich & connected.

Teddy Kennedy was driving an Olds Delta 88 when he went off the bridge. And, in case you didn't know, VWs back then floated. At least the bug did. There was even a commercial back in the day showing one floating.

You need a Constitutional Convention to repeal amendments. The Rs would love to hold one as there's lots of things in the Constitution they want to get rid of. Very risky. But Congress could pass laws restricting certain weapons & make it harder to buy a gun & buy back restricted weapons.

You are fortunate your govt cares about citizens & enacted common sense gun laws. Yesterday would have been much worse if the shooters had military grade weapons like so many own in the US. No one needs weapons of war.

I wish my country, US, would do something, anything, to stop the gun violence here. Mass shootings have happened in just about any public environment you can think of. You shouldn't have to take your life in your hands going to school, seeing a movie, shopping or going to church.

I lost my husband to a carjacking when we were young. There were days I wouldn't have gotten out of bed if not for my young children. It was quite a while later before I felt able to fully rejoin the world.

Yes, he did not have an easy life in Mississippi during Jim Crow time. He was so talented. I am glad he was able to record some of the music he played before he died. It would be fascinating to have access to everything the estate has. Are you writing a book?

I keep trying not to get too hopeful about this but it does look like the country is finally starting to wake up from this 10+ year nightmare called trump & R politics.

Perhaps they should have asked Robert Johnson, blues guitarist extraordinaire, how that making a deal with the devil stuff turns out. Legend has it that's how he got so good on the guitar. Shame he didn't live long enough to enjoy the fruits of that alleged deal.

We need a whole lot more room to list all those responsible for trump. I really hope folks remember in the midterms & the 28 general elections that he doesn't exist in a vacuum. Every single R in office, supplying money or screaming on podcasts & SM is responsible for this 10+ year nightmare.

Low information voters & the Electoral College. Dark money PACs. Folks in Congress who have abdicated their duties under the Constitution. Candidates like him who lied to his base. The only folks who can stop this are in Congress & SCOTUS & they are under his control these days.

I've wondered the same thing. Why not a PICC or a port as it seems like they need routine access for something. Or why not even use the A/C & an armboard if they don't want a PICC or port?

It does look like there's tegaderm under the bandaids. I've never seen that before. I've seen them use tegaderm for a dressing after removing an IV. I wonder why they don't use a vein higher up on the arm.

So he wants to give folks a tiny % of the money that would cover ACA subsidies to pay for their insurance? Are the insurance companies going to cut their premiums so folks can cover it with this pittance? He's betting folks will be happy getting a little money instead of insurance.

Zappa warned us a long time ago that our govt was headed toward becoming a "fascist theocracy" as he called it. He referred to politics as "the entertainment branch of industry". I would have loved to hear his opinions on what's happened to the US.
