Every single one of y’all with the power to do this—I hate everyone.

No, I will not be taking further questions.

I know I’m going to piss you off, and I apologize for this, but your playbook when talking about “Snyder fans” right now is basically looking eerily similar to this:

Time for a ranked list for them #MissionImpossible movies, a thread:

I really, really liked #LoveMe. Wildly experimental existential romance that explores the meaning (or lack thereof) of life, love, and the sense of self. Phenomenally acted by Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun. A bold, ambitious feature debut by writer-director duo Sam & Andy Zuchero.

It’s time. For one last mission. I think. Unless there’s another sequel. Let’s see. lol.

Steven Soderbergh’s #Presence is quite possibly the most unique supernatural drama-thriller I’ve seen, where it makes its visual storytelling intent crystal clear right from its first frame. Phenomenally acted, shot, and executed stuff.

Whether or not #AssassinsCreedShadows takes over my whole life remains to be seen, but damn, I’m not a trophy hunter unless the game in question is something I’m actually REALLY value and enjoy. And the last time was probably two years ago, with The Forgotten City, and before, Cyberpunk.

It’s THESE lost records of the timeline after Honnoji, where the creators build a narrative design around Yasuke’s connection to the brotherhood, and… I’m just saying, I really dig that kind of what-if remix of historical timelines.
April 29, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Probably my most favorite aspect of the game is its alternate-reality storytelling, where Yasuke’s real-life historical beats are more or less followed to the T till the Honnoji incident, where all records on him are either lost or were never created in the first place.

I kind of enjoyed the gameplay loop A LOT, especially as Naoe while stealthing my way through an objective. Sight and sound are SO important, and in places it gets to a point I was gripping my controller’s handles a bit too hard in some moments.
April 29, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Most of the issues I have with it feel very nitpick-y at best, and petty at worst, like the Kuji-Kiri, a form of meditation that’s kind of like haikus in Ghost of Tsushima, but with extra steps. It adds a lot of texture and environmental storytelling to its protagonist’s image system, but uh… yeah.
April 29, 2025 at 11:07 PM
I really loved how richly layered the morality play of its primary characters can be. An early action Naoe commits has a ripple effect to a supporting character, who sees what she did from the other side. For Yasuke, the cost of being a free man is taking many, MANY lives.

And the vibes really matched. It’s kind of the first time since Dishonored 2 probably where I found myself enjoying the leisure of staking out an area before cleaning it out, taking it slow, understanding the geography of a castle or enemy territory, and going accordingly.
April 29, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Knowing this was from the branch of Ubisoft that did that and Syndicate (which I tried hard to play, but found the characters too annoying to continue)… was not encouraging, but I’m a simple guy, a vibes guy, and if the vibes match, I’ll dig in.

That being said, the only other Creed game I played to completion was Odyssey (I like the Ancient Greece setting leave me alone, lol), and while I really dug the vibes, the game was uh…. DEATHLY long, & I couldn’t exactly point out when it ended even after the achievement pointing to it popped up.

As someone who’s never played a lot of the previous installments of #AssassinsCreed, I’m not going to deny that I don’t have the kind of hindsight players who’ve stuck around more than a decade and a half with this series would. I just thought it looked neat, and picked it up.
April 29, 2025 at 11:07 PM
So I’ve finished the main story of #AssassinsCreedShadows, along with the epilogue and a as many side missions as I could pack in organically within my journey, and I have… a LOT of thoughts. So I guess it’s time for a rambling thread I used to do on the Bird App, except now on this butterfly app.

Thoughts so far on #AssassinsCreedShadows: Stunningly beautiful and excellently told period political thriller that really plays with your idea of morality; of good and evil. As a game itself though, it’s highly addictive, and plays like one reads a lore-packed slow burn novel. So pumped.
