As a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), I am deeply saddened by the announcement that the NSF will pause the PAEMST program effective July 2025, with no applications accepted for 2026 & submitted 2025 nominations no longer considered.

For 15 years, I’ve worked to make science inclusive, engaging, and empowering in Hillsborough. #PAEMST celebrates teachers who do just that and helps us keep doing it. Don’t let this vital program disappear. Restore funding now.

“America’s future depends on excellence in education.” – President Reagan at the 1983 #PAEMST ceremony. That’s still true. Let’s restore funding for this essential STEM teaching award. @NSF @andrewzwicker.bsky.social

Gathering info to present in a PD… as an educator, where do you use generative AI like ChatGPT & Gemini? How does it help you save time? What are some of the things that you have done to get better results? #EduSky #GenerativeAI

Happy Thanksgiving! I’ve always loved the Macy’s Parade, but my excitement grew 10 years ago when a student with autism shared every detail with me. To this day, he emails me and two other teachers yearly updates about the lineup. His passion is contagious and a true joy to witness. 🦃🎈 #Thankful

The best part of these crazy half day before holidays is learning more about our students & their culture. Not everyone celebrates the same way. Today my student who moved to the US from Colombia shared her family enjoys making a plantain side dish(both raw and sweet yellow one) #EduSky #DaybeforeTG

In Dr. Paula White’s words, I am excited to be part of an “Authentic Informed Strategic Voice” for my students and Fellow educators.

Advocacy is “the immune system of the body politic”

If not me,then who?
If not now,then when?

I am super excited for this journey! #JerseyCANFellow

Do you think there should be leveled classes? Should there be Chemistry on level for STEM & non STEM students?

What levels of classes do you have at your high school besides the on level class? For your non special education population? I am specifically interested in math & science. #EduSky

Our district is looking into options of changing our schedule. We are on a 8 period, 6 day cycle schedule. Each period is around 51 minutes. We get 25 min lunch period. Lab science, gets an extra period(comes out of PE) every cycle.
