The main reason I haven't transitioned yet is because I'm in a conservative industry and I'm pretty sure i wouldn't have a job after i came out. I need to find my footing in some other industry or i will be homeless 😞

I think you just need to spend some time on it. I use it as an Excel & VBA support desk and a research tool and i think it really doesn't take much time to learn.
And anyway, your average white collar work is expected to master far more complicated things in a shorter timeline.

Usually humans are the weakest link in the system but that is because the system is trash. I have not seen an accounting system that doesn't require a ton of manual work around. I can't imagine how badly an AI system will go.
