The Wirecutter/NYT participates in the corporate theft of our souls by pretending that stuff we can buy (oh look, more consumerism) will change fundamental conditions set up by corporate decisions. Like we're responsible for the conditions and thus need to be the change agent rather than the corp.

Maybe that isn’t how this works. Maybe God says welcome home beloved child. And then Jimmy looks around in the big love bath and says wait…. I think i might have made a mistake

& thus the power/importance of your well crafted novel. It broke through my lack of awareness. The addition of WW1 & The Flu gave a thoughtful foundation to the overall story of all the unacknowledged stuff that is hitting us today. We really really need to talk about this as a community. thank you

and those Project 2025 invisibles - why aren't they getting the headlines? Who are they? What are they doing? Dear WaPo, are you covering the wrong decision maker?

I'm kind of confused. Theoretically, POTUS (generic category, not specific occupant) shld be working 14 hr days meeting w leaders of everything so the country runs & wars are avoided etc. Not spending time with the small decision stuff like performing arts centers. So - who is doing the big stuff?

Hey, is there a chance y'all can open your web page to folks here in Europe? I am an American Presbyterian living in Munich and when I go to your links all is see is 403 - view is forbidden.

your link doesn't open in Europe. Can you do some sort of alignment with the Euro privacy standards? right now the link goes 403 Forbidden which kind of adds to the crazy.

If not, then there's room for something new and better. Persevere and rebuild; grieve and begin again.

What I'm trying to say is that we can be sustained by long term reminders that times and situations change. Remember to look, remember who we are and then live from that place for goodness and healing. What will sustain us for the big effort to come still? See the moon. Bake bread.

yes - we're part of a long term process. It helps me to see the eternal as we fall down toward what seems unbearable.
