Den Familiennachzug zu begrenzen, ist so eine falsche Politik. Es ist falsch für die Familien, und das wirkt sich auch negativ auf die Aufnahmegesellschaft aus. @taz.de

Das ist eine ex­trem hohe Belastung für alle Familienmitglieder, die oft zu Depressionen und Krankheiten führt.“ Benjamin Etzold, Migrationsforscher „Wenn umgekehrt unbegleitete Jugendliche herkommen, meistens junge Männer um die 16 Jahre, sind sie in einer Phase, in der sie eigentlich Orientierung brauchen“, so Etzold. „Nicht nur in einem neuen Land, sondern generell im Leben.“ Stattdessen wachsen sie ohne elterliche Unterstützung auf. Das sei extrem schwierig. „Sie leiden unter sehr hohen Erwartungen: arbeiten, Geld schicken, dafür sorgen, dass die Familie nachkommen kann. Daran zerbrechen viele.“

At Meertens Instituut in Amsterdam last week at the Religion, Media, and the Body seminar. This week at the Bi-Annual Meeting of the German Association for the Study of Religion (DVRW) in Bayreuth.
