A space to express my love of animation.

60 episodes of television that nurtured my love of animation (1 ep per show, in chronological order). My 17th choice is from the show "Home Movies" (1999). The episode "Dad" (s 2 e 7) has the wry dry humor of the show and the fantastic realized characters. Such A+ writing. youtu.be/a0SFSH7P38A?...

60 episodes of television that nurtured my love of animation (in chronological order, 1 per show). My 15th choice is "Hard Luck Woman" from Cowboy Bebop (Episode 24). Cowboy Bebop was always a show about their found family, and so I always consider this the emotional climax of the show...

5 absolutely essential Tatsuya Nakadai (1932–2025) performances, and an addendum. If you follow his filmography you will see some of the greatest films ever made. I considered not only the quality of the film, but also Nakadai's role. In Chronological order...

60 episodes of television that nurtured my love of animation (in chronological order, 1 per show). My 12th choice is from Aeon Flux (1995). A show that is all style, Aeon Flux is as mid 90s as a show can get. "A last time for everything" is the show at its peak. Fun, action, spy stuff, and style.

60 episodes of television that nurtured my love of animation (in chronological order, 1 per show). My 11th choice is from The Maxx (1995). This MTV show that came out of the "Independent" cartoon craze in the mid 90s was often style over substance. It was still great style. The episode I chose...

I rewatched Elio and I still don’t get the hate this movie gets. Is it because something can’t just be good nowadays? The story is a little rickety, but there’s genuine emotion and the jokes land. It zips by. It‘s in the middle of my Pixar rankings. Worth watching.
