I've had a long-running thread on twitter on the real migration crisis (not enough migrants). Will start posting here... but for the earlier 1,000-plus examples, see here:

NEW: Porsha Ngumezi is the fifth case we've reported on in which a woman died after not receiving a D&C or its second-trimester equivalent in time, or at all.

Her case raises questions about how abortion bans are pressuring doctors to avoid standard care even in straightforward miscarriages.

I am putting together some slides on how to answer essay questions that ask students to evaluate causal questions (e.g., "Did geographic luck cause the Rise of the West?".)

Just put together this diagram.

Paper worth reading: "The Optimality of Majority Rule" by Nina Bobkova.

This paper on the effects of middle school principals on longer-run student outcomes is important for (at least) two reasons: 1) there are big long-run impacts of principals; 2) different measures of principal quality impact different longer run student outcomes. 👇
What are the lasting impacts of middle school principals? A new CALDER paper explores the effects of principal value-added to cognitive and non-cognitive skills on students' schooling, work, and criminal justice outcomes.
