I found some amazing coral mushrooms (not an edible kind) growing in front of our summer cottage in NW Michigan last week. Along with Slippery Jacks and "Chicken Fat" mushrooms which are edible - I sliced and dried those. 😊 #Michigan #wildmushrooms

I love lilies - trial & error over the past 7-8 years has shown that these beautiful perennials are the perfect flowers for our garden's conditions. So I've been adding all sorts of colors & varieties, so happy they are thriving & slowly starting to spread. Yay for lilies! Here's a few pics! 😊❤️

Yes - and in possible coincidence, I get an email from Amazon this morning advertising a "50% off" sale. (I rarely get emails from Amazon, since I don't really shop with the site except maybe once a year, lol.) I wonder why they decided to send me a sales ad today.... 🤔

This inspires me to take out the old banjo my mom has at her home, the next time I visit. It was my grandfather's - he got it in trade for a deal on a car at his Detroit dealership from the great Eddie Peabody. The case still has World's Fair stickers on it... such a cool piece of music history. 😎🎶

This basic Graphic Designer job for a Christian church (which pays what I was making in a similar role *20 YEARS AGO* in 2005, ugh) requires drug testing + no felonies or misdemeanors. And yet for our most critical leadership positions in the entire country, drugs and criminal convictions are okay??

@thestarfishface.bsky.social I can relate to what you're saying about the sound effects: I have SO MANY bloody/splatter images on my laptop that the FBI would probably be concerned, lol. In my defense, doing art for indie filmmakers for horror genre projects sort of requires buckets of blood, lol 😂

Not a movie, it's a limited series: "Torchwood: Children of Earth". It's scifi + horror, and so deeply psychologically & emotionally disturbing in the deep moral questions it poses about society, government & humanity that it bothered me for three solid weeks afterward.

I'm old enough to remember when the Republican party was morally outraged over the ICE raid to collect little Elián González in '99. And the family's use of an AP photographer inside the house who captured the terror on the boy's face. The image swung public opinion from "deport" to "protect".

Believe it or not, here in NE Florida we've been dealing with four straight weeks of cold, including stretches of overnight frost & freezing/near-freezing temps. I've had to keep all my plants inside, and they're looking a bit sad.
Crazy weather! Including a not-zero chance of snow/ice next week.

I love to grow plants too, although just for beauty and harmony, not vegetables or grain for food. Although I've started several apple trees from seeds and am so happy to see the little trees survived the winter last year! Someday they may bear fruit. 😊
