As if all of the ~gestures broadly at everything~ wasn't enough, there are moisture issues in my attic, to the point of water spots forming on the ceiling. Major roof and moisture remediation was not the home renovation I was hoping for this year.

I'm not connected to many fly people, but I'm glad to see the community offering help -- my organisms have always been able to be thrown in a -80 for another day, fly strains will be lost if not actively maintained, another way funding losses can demolish scientific progress 💔
If you have been affected by the fires in LA, or are concerned about your ability to keep precious Drosophila strains going during the latest funding crisis, we will host your strains as a backup. Please email me.

Please amplify. If you are also able to host fly strains, add your name as well.

Hoping to start being more active on here, I definitely need a place that delivers less psychological damage to doomscroll than LinkedIn does

Don't mind me, just making my non-science friends think I'm batshit crazy over on instagram

Last month's exciting news was my new industry job.

This month? I've started ballroom lessons at Fred Astaire and have fallen in love with the ProAm category -- and all the pros at my studio!

It's only been a few weeks but I'm already preparing for a competition and a showcase!
