Like, I often hear "plagiarism machine that's killing the planet" but I'm very convinced that the copyright panic is actually *harming* artists far more than helping them. Strengthening Disney and Getty's IP rights in the name of "protecting artists" is a very bad thing, I think!

it is true that fast fashion companies often vastly overproduce, which is a HUGE contributor to clothing in landfills. the production is *somewhat* independent of actual demand. but i don't think that absolves you of your responsibility to minimize harm by not giving them money if you don't have to

why is your access to nice clothes more important than the exploitation of (notably, also poor) workers that you contribute to when you buy fast fashion?
my cynical opinion, of usamericans at least (being one myself), is that people think they're the center of the universe
