Me if you'd let me transform
it's very grounded yet surrealism tinged murder story. Plenty of it's songs are outright some very cinematic rock, though where it's tracks fall into trends of it's time are for sure put to great use. While it's story is great, it's worth it for the atmosphere alone. Go watch it.

I tend to be dulled by 80s synth heavy scores as I find them often samey and tone-dampening in their overly glistening sound. The 80s revival aspects of the 2010s had and still have me fatigued. Tho I thought Manhunter had some killer sweeps & chimes that packed enough grit in their tone to sell-

with soul-holes left by both drug addiction and the environment that would foster it.
Some scenes feel horror in their direction, yet are accompanied by fun rave music that gives it's surprisingly surreal direction a bounce. As if the film is giving you the same stunted disconnect it's lead has.

The film sort of tricks you, easing you in with it's grime and grit, carrying with them a comedic levity, but much like how a high has to come back down, it's consequences felt brutal.

Your "little breather" fucking rocks
I actually just got done watching it's sequel as I type this. I didn't love it like I do the first film, but how it builds upon the "twist" is definitely creative and entertaining.
Really fun movie, worthy enough sequel for those who want more and aren't too serious in their standards.

Until you said "very cute anime" I thought you were talking about [REC] the Spanish horror film from 2007.
Might be a little off topic from what you were talking about, but I recommend that film if you haven't already seen it. Very fun thrill ride with a memorable and creepy twist at the end.

I agree, that type of mentality just shuts down conversations to a point of de-motivation.
