Yup, used up most of my free roaming minutes receiving that useless call. I'll get more minutes in a few days but I'll just send them a letter to end the contract and then close the bank account that the direct debit comes out of, and then nuke the site from orbit (it's the only way to be sure.)

Well, even tempting fate by going to pee while on hold didn’t get an answer, so eventually I gave up after 72 minutes. I know it’s outside their hours for me to call them, but somehow within the hours I could get them to call me. Maybe they messed up that callback scheduling form.

I don't actually want to make international calls… I'm just trying to cancel my contract now that I've finally removed that phone number from all my 2FAs. 😭

I’ve never seen a blue jay myself, but a friend showed me a video of them being d🦆cks to other birds at a feeder. 😄

I think that’s a pretty common misconception; I probably also used to think it was days leading up to Christmas or something like that.

It’s only about half a bowl of food. 😂 I’m not a bird, in case my recent posts gave you that impression.

Squabbling birds on feeder cams is the best kind of twitter drama! I’ve been getting squirrels in the feeder in the last few days too, but I’m saving those for the less bird-heavy days of Christmas. 😁

I haven’t even run the firmware update it needs to be able to record in 2K!

I also got a discounted one (the one with a solar roof, though there’s not a lot of sun currently so I still need to charge it every week or so.) It’s plastic so I don’t know what to say about the construction. It’s survived a month so far. I got a pole on Amazon to attach it to.

And another tip: if it comes with a free month of subscription (which tells you the bird species and allows 2K if you’ve done that firmware update), when it comes time to renew that, refuse it twice to bring the price down to 25% (I intended to let it lapse to see what difference it makes)

I got a BirdBuddy. It works well, but a few caveats:
- They added a $20 paper gift bag to my order which I didn’t want and didn’t notice in time to remove
- The camera is advertised as having 2K video, but is not set up to do 2K by default and needs a firmware update and a subscription to do it

I’ve also had Swiss rösti in the US, but they sell that in the supermarket (same brand I had over there) so it hardly counts as making it.
