Even if this wasn't blatantly supported under the table by party leadership, this paints a picture of a party that perpetually cannot get their members in line, because this keeps happening year after year. Neither are particularly good scenarios.

It is incredibly difficult to get folks to understand that there are literally 20-30 people in DC who could end all of this tomorrow, & all of them are Republicans in Congress, & no one in the National Conversation seems interested in paying attention to that.

I think this attitude is so common with games because they've broadly gotten wider in scope and possibility over time. But like, the NES wasn't succeeded by the SNES because we completely extinguished its capabilities. You could still make exciting and new games for it right now and into the future.
