This Friday I handed out balloons to my class of 200 undergrads in Cognitive Psychology, and asked them to try out the Buddha’s Ear Illusion on their friends and family and report back 🤭

Tabby cats are those with a distinctive "M" shape on their foreheads & stripes across the cheeks.

The name derives from French "tabis" which refers to a type of textured silk produced by heated patterned rollers that produce a distinctive striping pattern. Also called 'water silk' or moire.
