Thanks to @pfefferle responding so quickly to a question about an error I was having with my favorite Mastodon app called Mona. I now have it working and can post to my https://social.andyrush.net account (since Mona supports multiple accounts). This a big step forward.

For some reason, very few people these days will stand up and say it, but: the US federal bureaucracy is one of the great wonders of the world, staffed with incredibly diligent people who do their jobs well and care deeply.

Trump's destruction of the federal apparaus was a historic crime.
The Purged
Donald Trump’s destruction of the civil service is a tragedy not just for the roughly 300,000 workers who have been discarded, but for an entire nation.

Yes, I’m bummed that Final Cut et al are going to subscription, but A) I haven't paid for updates for FCP since 2014 and B) Apple Creator Studio is $13/mo vs. Adobe Creative Cloud at $70/mo

One more thing about gift links. If it's for a Washington Post article, I generally don't consider that a good gift.

Two complaints this morning. One is, if you're going to point out errors that were made by Ai, specify WHICH Ai you're talking about. You might not know this, but there's lots of ‘em. Two, if you're going to link to an article with more information, GIFT the article if it's behind a paywall […]
