They do it everywhere I go, I assume in honour of us, here it is in Austria, it's very thoughtful and welcoming.

It was a punt, but worth it. A 14 foot, narrow, touring board. Will I get wet? Will I cope? No and yes. Much to learn, much fun to be had!

Another great day in Scotland! Even if one's relationship with the river becomes more "intimate" than planned. You have to Earn your thrills around here.

It was a balmy -1.7C! The sea only froze on my board a little bit.

I've worked for the University of Dundee for 45 years and have never seen anything like we are currently experiencing. If you're unhappy about some of the things that have been happening recently, now is the time to send a very strong message.

140th consecutive monthly dook in the north sea! Very brief at this time of year despite the balmy 10C air temp.

The snowy backdrop deceives, it was really quite warm. The river level measured at Forteviot rose from 0.03m yesterday to 1.68m by the end of the paddle giving a flow which gave us a speed record of a 5m50s km. Interesting water though!

Fishing is permitted on the river Isla, but only within narrow confines of the bank.

Around about 10cm by my reckoning.
