Staff are on strike in the cold & damp to say NO to compulsory redundancies. Management must engage with staff properly: co-design a recovery plan, do not impose cuts!

The Interim Principal clearly said on STV News there would be no redundancies. Now he is trying to make hundreds of us redundant. Was that misleading people? Was it lying? Total ineptitude?

Whatever it is, staff and students have no trust in this ‘leadership’.
Do you think staff at the University of Dundee were misled when we were told there would be no redundancies? Or when he told us they hadn’t said there would be no redundancies?

I once had a landlord that owned the shopping plaza we had a store in.

He was busted by the town for dumping chemicals into the sewer system, several times.

He was the biggest asshole I've ever met in my life.

It takes a certain type.

They’ve buried it so thoroughly my colleagues know little about the thousands of studies on problems… and even more importantly… almost nothing about the solutions.
The entire responsibility of handling Covid was offloaded on to the individual and they were told to “assess your own personal risk”, while simultaneously NOT informing the individual of actual risk - such as unseen, cumulative vascular and neurological damage, risk of long covid in kids, etc.

"Can't expand economy without healthy workforce."

Letting Covid disable so many people in the UK was a deliberate choice by Johnson & his pathetic cronies. If the economy will continue to struggle as a result, then we know who to blame, don't we?
NHS needs up to £3bn extra to avoid cuts, health leaders warn.

Cuts = money wasted on redundancies.

NHS leaks money due to PFI, privatisation profits.

6.26m await 7.41m England hospital appointments.

Can't expand economy without healthy workforce.

Must increase NHS capacity. Pay doctors/nurses.

We will not give up. We care about our university, our students and our city. It has been a very long time since anyone at the top did. That’s got to change.

The implication from Labour is that we, migrants, don't contribute enough, don't integrate enough, don't work enough.

Meanwhile I've volunteered in political activism for no pay, I've taken Gàidhlig evening classes, I make a living as an artist creating abstract renditions of Scottish landscapes.

Remember when UEG told us “there was no plan B” for further redundancies.

Now we know, from the published Recovery Plan, that at the same time they were proposing over 400 future job losses including over 350 redundancies.

We cannot trust their words.

Vote in our ballot now to protect jobs.

The Scottish Government kicked out a proposal for 632 compulsory redundancies and that was replaced with 300 voluntary. Our interim principal submitted a "Recovery Plan" (aka evisceration) with over 400 more redundancies and said we were happy with it.

You said there would be no redundancies on national television.

Then confirmed on 1st July to 1000 staff and @thecourier.co.uk there is no Plan ‘B’ for redundancies.

Then six weeks later it’s revealed your failed “recovery plan” wanted 190 compulsory redundancies.
