This week marks 5 yrs since USDR's founding. What began as an urgent response to COVID-19 has evolved into a sustainable model for strengthening government digital capacity

Through nearly 600 projects nationwide, we've seen firsthand the dedication of public servants and their impact on communities

My dad only has a landline; no computer or mobile phone.

He calls me to ask AI his science or history questions and I play an audio response over the phone.

So I bought him a local area number on Twilio and wired it up to OpenAI RealTime API

Now he calls that and then me to tell me AI's answer 🤣

Mac and Me
ALF

Both from the 80s and were about an alien who crash lands on earth to be taken in by a family. Both also have cliffhanger endings with no follow-ups, as they both were canceled afterwards.

The truest of aliens from outer space conspiracies were right there all along.

I switched to Framer from a static site generator. There is a lot that I like about Framer, but I was not expecting to rely on using CMS as much. Terms, Privacy and Fair Use are all separate CMS resources (is that what it’s called?).

The co-working spot I work out of has a Airstream in the office. Nicely outfitted with a couch and two desks. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m looking to move over a growing Rails 7 / PostgreSQL / Sidekiq app to @fly.io. It looks slick. Kamal 2+DO also a consideration, but fly.io still looks simpler for my meager brain 🤷🏻‍♂️. I need PR preview apps. Option for multi-region support. Other stuff like backups etc.

Anyone using or used them?

I'll make my first post here some photos from our trip to Japan earlier this month.

Two weeks in: Tokyo, Kyoto, Mount Fuji and Hiroshima.
