Yes, I saw Rostock on the maps at the front of the book and thought of you! The book is (I think) going to tell positive stories of life in the GDR, presenting a different view to our (maybe) stereotypical perceptions. I won’t pry, but how interesting it would be to know your views! Maybe one day 😊

I was thinking it might be similar to Anna Funder’s “Stasiland” which was undoubtedly grim, but after reading the preface in this book it seems the aim is to explore the positives too, which will be interesting 👍
