The scene in Arvada.

Got up to Kenosha just in time to shoot the same fall photo I always do.

Am I losing it or is this middle one wrong? From a City of Arvada mailer.

This woman literally ran through the woods to reach her son, who was thankfully safe, in the Evergreen shooting.

“I think if I’m being honest with myself, I always knew it was ‘When, not if?’”

Families of 900 students faced this today. 4 families facing worse — injuries and at least one death.

Finally, a chainsaw just for seniors!

I know it's been a storyline for years, but RTD's dropoff is still just stunning to see.

Why did they make the cash register look like they just cut its shape out of a rectangular building?

Very important, look what I found on the Nuggets' 1999 website.

I saw the lunar halo, and you know what? I liked it.

Random Arvada news: The old Hobby Lobby at 7815 Wadsworth is to be scraped and replaced with a Whole Foods at 40ksf. Application was approved back in September.

Here's a better view of where the developer is getting land. 145 acres at the little red pin on the bottom-right. I presume this will be pretty valuable?

Westside Investors wanted to use the golf course land as the site of a mixed-use development with housing, retail and a park in the heart of northeast Denver, but voters disagreed.

I realize it’s one of the busier days of the year, but I think Denver Zoo’s new ticketing system has issues. The gate staff have to push like six buttons for every party.

I have passed the 89th trial of fatherhood.

One of the least accessible Denver spots I’ve visited for work: the top of the Tower of Memories.

🧵Why does Denver have so much weird public art? Why do we have a giant demon horse and a giant bedazzled dog and a giant blue bear? Why is the airport so weird in particular?

The answer comes from what I call the Wealth-Weirdness Corollary, and it's all rooted in one decision in the late 1980s.

This house has outdone itself.

I had thought the “no training wheels” philosophy was hooey, but there is nothing cooler than a 4-year-old on two wheels. She’s been riding for all of 3 hours in her life and doesn’t want to stop.

A slightly unusual view of Denver. Tag in if you know where.
