Dan is far more eloquent than I.

While it feels like I'm repeatedly slamming my head against a brick wall repeating this massively simple concept. Saying "Reform would be worse" doesn't make what Labour is doing better. Labour is now the most anti-immigration, anti-any marginalised group, government we have seen in decades. 1/
Very long thread: As with many of Labour's anti-immigration policies, this isn't new. British police have been stationed in other countries for this purpose for a long time
It does however show how Labour is pushing more on anti-immigration than previous governments. 1/

I did. Please don't assume I can't see what is In front of my eyes and that I don't have access to be able to read reports on immigration. All this is doing is legitimiseing Reforms racism.
As I've said, a policy being applauded by Robinson and Benjamin should be some sort of moral barometer.

Walter the wobot was fun,pet goldfish as deputy chief judge. So much of Deeds was absurd while still being meaningful

There are a lot of communities on Bluesky that are afraid and angry.
How are they to communicate when we are not listened to?
If we are not listened to when we are civil, then what? We have little to no power.

We may be disabled but we are not daft and no amount of spin can make all of this right. The bill really should have been paused for proper assessment with us included in the discussion. It's left me feeling depressed and saddened that those that are voted into power to protect us have failed us.
July 11, 2025 at 1:21 PM
There was plenty of evidence from disabled organisations that showed how harmful this bill would be,but it fell on deaf ears as the most important part at the time was to get it through to save face and money. Disabled people have been ignored.
July 11, 2025 at 1:21 PM
Maybe, but to what end though? I watched in despair last Wednesday as rushed concessions were brought in just to get the bill through. There wasn't enough time to assess any of it and I'm not sure many MPs fully knew what had changed apart from the pip element being ripped out.

As a disabled person, you are right. labour are doing stuff that even IDS wouldn't
July 9, 2025 at 8:47 PM
As complex as it may be it's the MPs job to grasp it otherwise they are voting for something they don't understand. How can that be right?
July 9, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Been watching this afternoon hardly any MPs there at all. My MP @samanthaniblett.bsky.social wasn't at the debate last week and I'm pretty sure how she will vote tonight. I admit I've been somewhat naive about politics but I now have no faith in it at all.
July 9, 2025 at 4:33 PM
unfortunately my MP was the person that signed the first amendment and then promptly removed their name.
No chance they will vote against it I'm afraid.
July 8, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Agreed. Most of my adult life has been like this .
July 5, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Hope everyone has a fantastic time

Because to most of the commentators the main thing they have pushed is how much not killing us disabled people will cost the public. They don't care.
Anyway Reeves and Starmer have had a little hug now so the markets won't shit themselves.
