It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve recently received some amazing beta reader feedback from a friend in my writing group. I’m working hard to implement the changes she recommended. I’m closer to my novel being ready for release. Exciting times ahead. #booksky #historicalfiction #anglosaxon

At the weekend I finally walked part of Offa’s dyke. Something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Also visited 4 castles in one day! #history

I thought I would share my first attempt at poetry. It inspired by my favourite Welsh King. Please be gentle 😅

Just a small update on my work: I’ve officially shared my novel with a group of amazing beta readers who kindly volunteered their time and insight. I can’t thank them enough. I suppose it’s time for me to sit, bite my nails, and pace the room for the next couple of months… right? #booksky

I recently wrote my first prompt piece with my fantastic local writing group and thought I’d share it. Inspired by the real-life Roland le Fartere, who became a very rich man thanks to his talents as a court jester. #historicalfiction #indieauthor #booksky

I’ve been struggling with getting the motivation to edit my novel. How do you motivate yourself? #IndieAuthor #Booksky #HistoricalFiction

I am currently editing my novel to get it ready to send to beta readers. My biggest worry isn’t whether they will like it or not. But whether I have the ability to action the changes they will inevitably suggest. This is my first novel, is this common? #booksky #IndieAuthor #HistoricalFiction

I have been toying with the idea of adding a section after the end of my novel, characters fact vs fiction. Is this something you enjoy at the end of historical fiction? I know I enjoy reading the thoughts of the author and facts about the characters. let me know? #booksky #historicalfiction

I love reading Anglo-Saxon historical fiction, but it’s always born heroes or battle-hardened warriors. My MC, Eadric, isn’t that—he’s the son of an ealdorman, unprepared for war. He’s morally ambiguous, but not in the same way as Uhtred(Last Kingdom) your thoughts?. #historicalfiction #booksky

Thought I would share a brief excerpt from my novel. I’m hoping to self publish this year.

For context My main character Eadric and his companions have just escaped a deadly encounter, this situation reminds him of a peril they faced earlier in the book.

I started looking into self publishing. It’s so overwhelming! If anyone can point me in the right direction for a simplified guide that would be extremely grateful. #Booksky #historicalfiction

Recently received some feedback on one of my chapters from my writing group. Incredibly helpful and can only recommend finding like minded people to help you grow as a writer. #Booksky #historicalfiction

This line from the Anglo Saxon chronicles inspired me. Cynewulf often fought great battles against the Britons, and he held his kingdom with great effort and courage until he was deprived of it. Cynewulf ruled from 757-786 AD. Yet we know so little. #historicalfiction #anglosaxon #Booksky

My novel is set in Wessex 18 years prior to the first Viking raid at lindisfarne. I wanted to explore the dynamics between the Saxons, the Britons and the Welsh. #Booksky #anglosaxons #historicalfiction

In June 2023, I lost my job and became a stay-at-home father. During that time, a small idea for a story began to grow, inspired by my passion for the lesser-known centuries of Anglo-Saxon England. By November, that idea became my debut historical fiction novel’s first draft. #Booksky #Anglosaxon
