Then the phase changes - bike light turns red, and pedestrians get a green light.

I visited the junction today. When the Charlotte Sq traffic turns red, the bike signal turns green - I think the idea is bikes can cross safely then (give or take a mega bus blocking the entire junction). Traffic from George St can turn left as well.

Are cars and taxis be allowed to turn right here? The paint on the road suggests no, though loads of drivers do - it has always confused me.

Here's an example... I don't think this van is allowed to turn right - what do you think? (Cyclist should have stopped also)

Is the RH lane supposed to prevent vehicles other than buses and bikes from turning right? If so, It seems many drivers ignore it. (St Andrew's Square, #Edinburgh)
