If you look at the graph in the article or linked carbonbrief report www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-chi... it’s about 3% lower than 18 months ago but has been wiggling up and down a bit. So can’t yet be certain whether it has really peaked.

Not sure where you get 60p per mile. Fuel duty is 53p/L. Average car does about 8 miles/L, so under 7p per mile.
