Saw this on FB Nov 78… first season in the 4th, wasn’t spectacular but kinda steadied the ship. Only other Pompey connection I can see is Goddard for Newport who later broke his leg at Fratton park. It was a very loud crack and could hear it all over the park.

November 1976, very poor season and even though we just survived and avoided relegation,we went down to the 4th the season after. Look who scored both goals against us and some other Pompey interest scoring elsewhere too.

Just watched the original 1976 “Assault on Precinct 13” in the first time in 40 years. What a bloody good film it is for a lot of low budget names.

Today in 1979 the Legendary 😎 Phil Ashworth made his Debut against Darlington, He scored two decent goals and I thought hello we are onto something here… the rest is history as they say.

In 1984 we caught ferry over to France and drove down to her sister who was in Gibraltar at the time.
Trip down was great fun, the drive back was a nightmare 😂
Was in a Rover 3.5SDI which had to be very cosseted on the drive and we had ran out of money and paitence and everything
