I had 100 Ornithopters in the open play area at Cube Con and looking through the cube after the weekend to see the 3-0 alters I was heartbroken to find that someone drew OVER @klugalters.bsky.social's incredible Ornithopter. I assume someone thought it was just a different printing of the card? 😭😭😭

Going REALLY hard on strong motivations to play things other times could be very cool. Addendum, for example. But a card like Moderation, to me, is the perfect example of why not committing to 100% instant speed could be cool. What a sick payoff.

Snapcaster Mage the GOAT, would love to see multiples in a cube like this. Perilous Research, Caller of the Claw, and Dress Down also come to mind.

Fun game @phantooom.bsky.social just invented: for each evergreen keyword ability, what is the card that uses it best? For example: Celestial Colonnade is the best use of vigilance, Ball Lightning is the best use of Trample, etc.

Second draft of the day is “Tresserhorn Gardens”, which appears to be a more or less power max grixis cube. I think my deck is a bit of a mess. Lost r1g1 to an on curve Gut, True Zealot, sideboarded and kept an opener g2 with Meathook Massacre and Confluence, and opponent played Sheoldred 🙃
