Ugh. I understand your pain. The biggest things that helps me were:
- switching to 9” circulars instead of DPNs for socks
- keeping the CC in my left hand and having the floats “lower” than the MC floats.
- learning to knit the CC continental style so I’m not constantly dropping/picking up yarn
