I'm a Marine Corps veteran, pilot, father, husband, and law student. I care deeply about maintaining democratic institutions, equal access to the law, and the basic needs of every citizen. I aim to help keep America on the progressive arc toward justice.
The cybertruck, which the government has agreed to spend $400 million buying, is 17 times more likely to have a fire fatality than the Ford Pinto. The Pinto was infamous for catching fire. Beyond corrupt and stupid.

Musk called people who use federal services the "parasite class." Red states use far more federal services than blue. They also pay less into the federal Treasury. Whose the parasite class, Elon? The people who voted for Trump.

There's no shortage of irony in the President who wants to create a department of government efficiency firing dozens of inspectors general who exist to combat government fraud, waste, and abuse. But don't worry, he's definitely not planning on abusing his office. Fml.

@mscommunity.bsky.social I would love an explanation for why one of the world's largest tech corporations doesn't have a means for disgruntled users to elevate a complaint beyond the service center. I spent over $3000 on a studio laptop 2. It caught fire. The replacement shuts down every 10 seconds.

Friendly reminder that DEI hires ARE merit hires. They're hired out of the pool of qualified candidates. Businesses don't make unqualified DEI hires, because that doesn't serve them. They need competent employees AND diversity, because it objectively makes businesses more efficient and successful.

On a hopeful note, we should push to amend the Constitution to overturn Citizens United and formally ban corporate money from elections. Roughly 80% of Americans are in agreement here. If we push now, the Republicans will get the credit for it, making them more likely to support.

I'm terrified of living in a country where we are willing to sell our democratic institutions for the cost of eggs.

We are not immune to autocracy.

I'd love to hear other's thoughts on how we get to a place where our democracy is placed above our temporary whims and struggles.

I'm not frightened by another Trump presidency. The government is a big, slow beast that's difficult to meaningfully move in any direction. I fear a nation where 70 million people disregarded his attempt to overthrow democracy (forgiving the countless other disqualifying actions) because of eggs.

Tradition is inherently valueless. The only value in any tradition is what it has provided to its adherents. Slavery was a tradition. Public torture was a tradition. Female subjugation. I could go on. We need to stop praising tradition as a good of its own and ask instead, what good has it given us?

In a time when the world needs good news, I'm so pleased that Assad's reign of terror is over in Syria. Hopefully the Syrian people can come together and forge a government for the people. The rebuilding process will be tough and Russia is sure to insert their influence, but now there's hope.

Democrats should draft the 28th Amendment to the Constitution to reflect the Second Bill of Rights. Forces Republicans to join in or publicly deny a functioning democracy. It's not 1789 anymore. We need to expand our idea of basic human and constitutional rights. This stops SCOTUS from interfering.

I've spent a lot of time and energy lamenting the upcoming administration, and for valid reasons. But a wise friend told me that I should use my voice to write about my hopes and plans and how I think we can come together to preserve America's future. He was right. I hope I can take up the charge.

The FedSoc Gala just ended. It's a meeting of conservative lawyers, judges, and justices and the topic of discussion was the independent judiciary. You know, free from outside influence. Hosted by a private organization designed to influence the judiciary. Not one speaker mentioned the irony.

The CEO of WWE will be in charge of the Department of Education. But don't worry, she was on the Kentucky board of education for a year. They rank 45th out of 50 states in education. It's actually shocking how much of a joke we're becoming.

Anyone else remember when Dr. Oz said that it was fine for 2–3% of schoolchildren to die?

Yeah, he’s in charge of Medicaid and Medicare now.

Holy shit. I never want to hear a Republican talk about AOC's qualifications again. We are on the verge of:

-A Reality TV actor president
-A daytime opinion piece pundit as DOD secretary
-A daytime TV doctor as head of Medicaid/Medicare

We have become a laughing stock overnight.

Just my 2 cents. But my goal is to ignore the trolls. Give them zero attention. Block them if they annoy me.

I think the worst thing we can do on this site is re-create the ad hominem/ personal attacks that occur across comments on Twitter/insta/tiktok/ etc
