And yet, Spain got that goal on the back of a foul that was uncalled by the center ref. Then the rules analyst decided to spend his time blasting Swiss players instead of analyzing rules.

As per usual, the hatemongers say that 'freedom of speech' demands that hate be published.

Like, I could see him saying - I'm not meeting with just anyone but I'll direct you to the Secretary of HHS or their second, and they'll make sure your message is heard - and I feel like that should be fine.

Okay, aside from my gut reaction of "why do they get to meet with him?"...

So @mcuban.bsky.social did Biden completely not send ANYONE to meet with you or other businesspeople (like cabinet members or important staff), did he say it was a timing issue, or did he just refuse? Just curious.

I really struggle to have any sort of trust in someone who can look at Jan 6, 2021 and still believe that voting for Trump was a good idea. But there are definitely people I care for on the right and vice versa.

I highly doubt that will happen.

I was responding to the statement independent of the original post. Perhaps this was a mistake and confused the message. I wholeheartedly agree with the candidate's statement.

True. But I just wish that sympathy for Palestine wasn't automatically being labeled as antisemitism.

If the names of police are secret, then you have ... a secret police.

(for those unaware, Gestapo is short for Geheime Staatspolizei which translates to secret police)

Let's not be satisfied now Sam. Time to double down!

I also discuss what AI does well and what it does badly. And I also talk about how AI is taking jobs and what new jobs will look like where one person and AI is doing the work of 5 people. It's a brave new world. But there's no avoiding this.

Consistent messaging is needed. We've been here in math for a while - why do engineering students learn Calculus if a computer can do it? Because they need to implicitly understand the underlying concepts, and that requires work. And every professor tells them that.

I'm not too surprised. Basically, the axis that runs between Omaha and Lincoln is the blue island in a very otherwise red state. (maybe a bit of blue up near Sioux Falls as well). It's high time that Omaha flipped blue.

Well, "Fox News" and "ONN" still count as news with these polls, so one can speculate that being *misinformed* is worse than being not informed at all is where we're really at here.

Honestly, "Growing a Spine is Good Politics" would be a fitting headline.

I think that has to be done in steps - don't want to rush that action, make sure it's abundantly clear what they're doing AND that it's coming from the top before you issue that warrant.
April 15, 2025 at 7:01 PM
No I think it's a good clarification. I wasn't really careful with my facts
April 10, 2025 at 12:03 AM
Okay that's true - the director of the Fed decides independently to change interest rates - but I think you can argue he certainly is influenced by the monetary policy put in place by the President. I don't know, maybe you don't want to accept that argument though
April 10, 2025 at 12:03 AM
No (I think). Presidents manipulate the market all the time, as does Congress. Every time the Fed's interest rates are raised and lowered? Market manipulation.

Now, one could argue that doing so to profit off the predictable (for you) volatility of the stock market SHOULD be illegal. But it's not.

Chinese tariffs still in place. For many companies, that's still enough to put them out of business.

How soon before they start doing this for US citizens? And at that point, do they deport any of us who disagree with them? They're already arguing that if they do so, they're not legally obliged to ever bring us back.
