Also great that the ICC recognises that women's cricket can be a growth engine for the game (now India has won the World Cup). Any chance of letting more than 16 teams have a chance of qualifying for it? How about some proper financial support for Thailand and the Afghan refugee teams? Anyone...?

So that's who Frank Duckworth was. A nerd who checked EVERY scorecard, no matter what level the game was at, to make sure the Duckworth Lewis Method was applied correctly. He was one of us. (5/5)

A quick check with the scorers confirmed that I'd copied it down wrong and upon supplying Duckworth with the correct interruption point, he confirmed that the target was correct. (4/5)

On the official tournament website I'd mentioned the point at which the game was interrupted on the official scorecard. Duckworth saw this and checked the calculations - an interpretation at that point would have given a different total than the team batting second were actually set. (3/5)

There were a few unsavoury incidents which I'm not at liberty to share in a public forum, but there was one which really warmed my heart.

One game I was at was shortened by rain and the DL Method was used. The next day the tournament director forwarded me an email from Frank Duckworth. (2/5)

If West Indies ranking position would qualify for the qualifier they will be replaced by a team that wins a separate West Indies qualifier.

Round one - two groups of three (6 games), no teams eliminated.
Round two - teams combined into one group and play the teams that did not finish in the same position in round one. Six more matches.
Then medal games. 14 matches.
