I build stuff with Replit and Zapier. Sometimes for money, sometimes for fun!

From the UK, but living in Hungary for 11+ years.

Being the “friendlier” platform wasn’t enough as it turns out.

Although imo the “Popular with Friends” feed it’s pretty rubbish. Never see anything interesting there.

I agree it’s an issue - mainly I think because people are in a rush and give the most minimal feedback they can.

Any ideas how to solve?

CTA buttons = essential.

Blogs are for Google only these days.

Just make sure the people that land there go right into your funnel... even if they don't read the blog.

Knowing nothing about either... Scala sounds more fun 😁

What was the first thing you built?

Always 😁 Zapier consulting, teaching an AI course, writing tutorials for an AI edu site, two newsletters and a bunch of little side hustles.

Latest problem I’m solving = UptimeRobot killed their free plan so I’m building myself a replacement. Maybe I’ll open it for others.

I’m sure there is a golden ratio somewhere here… let me know if you find it 😅

All I’m saying is that there’s nothing wrong with practicing on the ideas you have right now to build your skills for when you have an idea that might sell.

You build 3 “useless” products and in doing so, get an idea for a useful one. Then it was worth it.

And nowerdays it’s so much easier to do 🙂

I think people underestimate the value of just building something. Anything. Repeatedly. Just for the sake of honing your craft. You get inspired.

Before though it took so long it was hard because you need to do something to earn money alongside.

But now it’s much easier to just build and see.

Not yet but it looks useful. I might show it to Replit Agent and see what it can build with it.
