In a crowded field, RTB is arguably the most disastrous policy of the last 50 years. Rather than democratising homeownership, many former council homes are now rental assets for private landlords. If we are serious about addressing the housing crisis then RTB must be abolished, not reformed.

Why is it taking soooooo long to deliver bus franchising in Scotland? 🤔🚌

Our new research shows the extent to which we now lag behind the rest of the UK 🧵👇

Some rare good news for trans people – the transphobic amendment to the Data Bill was defeated by a large margin. It would have forced trans people to out themselves virtually daily, putting people's safety and dignity at risk, so it's great to see MPs reject it comprehensively.

The vote share of the two biggest parties has been falling steadily for decades.

Recent polling shows it could fall below 50%. And yet we still have a voting system designed to silence all other voices.

It's time for a system update. It's time for PR.

It's now 5.5 years since the #TransportAct2019 was passed & we're still waiting for ScotGov to enact essential bus franchising powers🚍

With this snail's pace, it's no wonder @fionahyslop.bsky.social has had to scrap the 2030 target🤦

More privatised bus madness in Glasgow. Two busses with the same number (4) run by different companies, going totally different places but sharing a bus spot stop.

Mass confusion and hugely disruptive if you get on the wrong route.

Why can’t we get the most basic things right?

Brexit wasn’t a democratic vote or the will of the people. It was a right wing populist coup and wholly necessary. We must rejoin the European Union.
I salute the Independent for breaking the Brexit omertà

Our membership of the European Union is a political question like any other

We should decide what to do on the basis of what is best for our country not a single historic decision

We would clearly be better off as EU members

I know expectations have now shifted, because they had to, but it's *mad* that as a reasonably high earning individual/a couple with okay salaries it's now essentially no longer possible to live in zone 2, just wasn't the case even a decade ago, social geography of London has changed *so much*

In our fight against obesity, the fragmented management and ownership of urban systems means that we create spaces like this, wherein it’s easier to access sugary and fatty foods than fresh fruit.

They take advantage of waiting for a train to play on people’s appetites.

Regressive.
