I don't think a test would necessarily limit access to alumni of the institutions you mention, but it's a bad idea. Tests are generally constructed by people who seek to identify the PLO. People Like Oneself.

Indeed. And another is that this story prompted once of the best interviews I've heard on these LLMs (on C4 News). A US computer scientist pointed out that - in spite of the gushing marketing and media fanfare - none of these these learning algorithms come close to being an AI.

Good grief. I was thrilled to bits when my interview with the late Russell Hoban involved tea and cakes in his wonderful labyrinth of books. Otherwise, I've just been pathetically grateful so many writers are willing to spend time giving informative answers. Am I odd?

As Cheryl says, we want stories: 1600 words or fewer... stories set in workplaces, estates and decaying city centres; stories exposing abuses of power, corporate calamities and government deceptions; stories powered by the hopes, fears, experiences and imaginations of working-class writers.
