The mapmakers went to extremes, drawing an almost impossibly biased plan, which foreordained an 11-3 delegation even if Dems won 51.3% of statewide vote. None of 80,000 random maps would have resulted in 11-3 split. (h/t Jonathan Mattingly)

Dems lost their last check on Trump in NC's 2022 judicial elections, despite stopping predicted national red wave. Right after the GOP gained a majority of NC SCt in the 2022 elections, the court reversed itself and gave Republican state legislators carte blanche to draw districts in their favor.
