Reminder that @ddosecrets.com is not only archiving DOJ's Epstein files, but has 20K+ emails from Epstein's Yahoo inbox.

I broke 2 Epstein scoops as well based on hacked emails from ex-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak that had been sitting on DDoSecrets for months.

Don't overlook this resource.
The original cache of DataSet 8 (with the incorrectly redacted files) has been added to @ddosecrets.com
So for some of the Epstein docs they highlighted in black and then forgot to “print to pdf” which would have effectively flattened the formatting and stopped text being recoverable, but here we are.

The Epstein files have been updated and now include 193 GB of data and nearly 100,000 files. This includes the original version of DataSet 8 (with redaction failures), plus the re-released version.

We've found DHS is giving local cops a new facial recognition app to find immigrants. Point camera at face, tells the cop to detain person or not. The app is available on Google's Play Store. Google took down apps that report ICE sightings but now hosts this app

In Trump 2.0 surveillance firms are explaining working for ICE/the government with 'we live in a democracy' and shrugging their shoulders. But this democracy is different. Sources say this is to absolve responsibility.

Apple and Google can identify devices/users based on push tokens obtained by law enforcement from services. Unlike Google, Apple only recently began requiring warrants:

Apple now requires a judge's consent to hand over push notification data
Apple has said it now requires a judge's order to hand over information about its customers' push notification to law enforcement, putting the iPhone maker's policy in line with rival Google and raising the hurdle officials must clear to get app data about users.

That's why leaks undermining the administration's claims aren’t an excuse to keep more information secret — they are a reason to declassify the underlying records.
