Hello 👋. I’ve come out from under my rock since Twitter turned peculiar and then became X. I hope to re-connect with people who became my friends 🧡. Please do the equivalent of a retweet to help me find people.
@relationalsw.bsky.social hi colleagues, thank you for following and pleasure to follow back. Have a lovely weekend.

Listening this morning and would encourage others. I’ll be sharing in my routine CPD list to social workers and school DSLs. Thanks @ponderingplay.bsky.social
The first in a series of podcast about regression, and revisiting early years with play. Philippa and Julie ponder their experiences of children who may not have experienced consistent, predictable and nurturing care they needed and how play can help to fill in some of those gaps.

Good evening #socialwork colleagues. Thinking about taking up a bit of blogging again. Lots happening in the world of social work so lots to say; undecided if I definitely want to do this. But if I do, what’s the best platform these days?

In Ep. 142 @annamueller.bsky.social highlights three social roots of youth suicide - academic pressure, mental health stigma, and (perhaps surprisingly) social connectedness. We talk about these systemic challenges and what we can do about them in schools.

Fantastic to judge our locality 3&4 giant Christmas card competition. It has been a tough year for them, having to unexpectedly move offices and currently being housed temporarily. But they did a great job thanks to our family hubs lending them a sports hall for festive fun.

This is an absolutely fascinating read for anyone interested or advocating for CYP mental health.

Suicide consistently remains one of the top 3 killers of children and young people aged 5-18 alongside cars and cancer.

Let that sink in.

Then read this.

If you work with youth, Pamela Morris-Perez's Annual Review article making the argument for a developmental approach to youth suicide is a must read. No firewall. Please share with your networks of teachers & administrators, mental health professionals, etc. www.annualreviews.org/content/jour...

Of course, the devil is always in the detail but I’m liking much of what I’m reading. I’m curious about plans around homes in the community where children are subject of dol and what that will look like. 1
