The problem is it's like they went out of their way to pick the worst finalists.

Yeah, this is the flaw in the plan. Teenage rebellion picking the Commander-in-Chief couldn't possibly backfire horribly.

I sometimes think we have it backwards. We shouldn't have a minimum age to vote; we should have a maximum one. no one over 21 gets a vote. Kids never overcomplicate fairness.

Does he leave Usha before or after the mid-terms?

Wait, what?

Kennedy believes insane nonsense. Bessent just says nonsense hoping WE believe it.

Watching him take a bite of the vending machine burger and try not to say it's gross (before he knew Capitol Hill employees didn't make it) is the most likable he has ever been. You could see the disgust in his eyes, but he wasn't gonna say it.

I think there may be a Secret Option number C: MTG has many batshit insane beliefs. But they are *sincere* batshit insane beliefs. This gives her a weird sort of integrity. Is she "moderating?" Hell no. Do I believe she's genuinely pursuing what she thinks is right? Yes. God help us all.

Trump's whole political strategy assumes his voters are both poorly and badly informed "Why would he have supported releasing the list if he was on it?"

Oh, and after all the millions of dollars spent on advertising, the harmful policies and all the demagoguery...

Stop.
Picking.
On.

Kids.

The Rs lost to me four times in six years. That should've been a hint. But apparently it wasn't, so the voters made their thoughts crystal clear tonight.

The conservative estimate for November would be about $200 million. It's not a good long term solution, but it would get us through without hurting the long term financial health of the state. We just lack the will.

I think beyond anything generational, Biden's underlying pitch was "I can kill Trumpism" and, while again I think the theory of change was reasonable, on that front he clearly failed. And that may all history remembers of his otherwise wildly successful Presidency.

If any of us who were Black or (esp) Brown had done it, our families might not know were we are right now...

I think they were--I think they felt a slow, deliberate process that showed deference to the political sensitivity might get more buy-in. Again, a reasonable theory that didn't stand up to reality.

Right---I think the theory of change was that "Getting things done through normal governance will 'break the fever' more than a rushed prosecution would" which sounds reasonable when you say it aloud. It was just clearly disastrously wrong in hindsight.

That said, I think you can make a plausible case that getting re-elected was the single most crucial task Democrats had in the battle against fascism, and they failed.....

I think given what we know of Obama's foreign policy, assuming he would've done anything differently is wishcasting.
November 2, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Biden was SO much more effective a President at basically everything except getting re-elected.
