#H5N1 young people will be hit very hard by H5N1, and older adults who always get seasonal flu shot too since they do not have natural immunity from other viruses such as H1N1. People who always get vaccinated for flu are the ones that are going to die of H5N1, it is just simple maths !

Soon you will learn that we are already in the first phase of the H5N1 pandemic. In 1918, it started as such. I am really happy cuz I did not get the shot for H1N1 and instead developed natural immunity. Then, lately I am certain I had H5N1, 3 weeks sick with bleeding gum and pinky eyes. #H5N1

Ok, this is actually concerning. The sequence of the hospitalized teen with H5N1 has been released. Both of these mutation sites are known to impact α2,6 binding that is needed for human to human transmissibility.

California reports +5 people who were infected with #H5N1 #birdflu, bringing CA's total to 26. This brings the national 2024 total north of 50 cases.
