Thanks for having me as a guest on the Foodbevy podcast, exploring how AI is changing the world of food and drink businesses.
Great to catch up and a great conversation.

→ Great progress with the branding and naming project for our Northern Saskatchewan Client, NWC.
→ Tomorrow morning one last meeting with the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre and then a flight back home.

Thanks everybody for the warm hospitality and interest in what I had to share.

Example - we wanted to open a savings account to put in tax money. It needs a $25k minimum balance to be accessible online. I mean, wtf? It's 2025, and the banks are trying to pull this kind of nonsense.

I've switched to 50/50 decaf for the first coffee, full decaf after. So now I can drink as much as I want with no side effects.

While AI can process vast amounts of data about flavor combinations, consumer preferences, and market trends, it can't replace human creativity and intuition and emotional depth.

The magic happens when we combine both.

9/ The Bottom Line:
Your expertise got you here.
But your curiosity will get you there.
In the AI era, success belongs to those who can:
• Unlearn fast
• Stay curious
• Ask fresh questions
• Challenge assumptions
Your competitive edge? It's not what you know—it's how fast you can unlearn 🚀

8/ The New Success Formula:
Beginner's Mind + AI Tools = Innovation
But remember:
• AI provides answers
• Humans must ask questions
• Curiosity drives progress
• Unlearning enables growth

7/ 3 Ways to Foster Curiosity in Your Team:
1. Challenge "Sacred Cows" 🐄
- Question long-held beliefs
- Test assumptions regularly
2. Create Safe Spaces 🛡️
- Reward experimentation
- Embrace controlled failure
3. Ask "What If?" Questions 💭
- Imagine new possibilities
- Think beyond limitations

6/ The Curiosity Advantage
Teams that win with AI share one trait:
They're deeply curious.
They ask questions like:
• Why do Gen Z prefer certain flavors?
• How can we monetize waste?
• What if we could launch products 10x faster?

5/ Real Talk: My Own Journey
I used to be a Post-it notes & notebook guy for brainstorming.
Now? I go for walks, put on headphones, and talk to AI models.
Simple change, MASSIVE impact.
The key? I asked: "What if there's a better way?" 🚶‍♂️

4/ Why Unlearning Matters Now
Traditional business frameworks are becoming obsolete.
Example:
Old way: Months of focus groups
New way: AI simulations in seconds
The game has changed. Have you? 🤔

3/ What is "Unlearning"?
It's about adopting a "Beginner's Mind" (Shoshin in Zen Buddhism).
Key principles:
• Approach challenges with fresh eyes
• Let go of assumptions
• Stay open to new possibilities
• Embrace uncertainty

2/ The Problem with Experience
Picasso once said: "Computers are useless. They can only give you answers."
His point? The REAL power lies in asking the right questions.
But here's the catch: Our expertise often blinds us to new possibilities.
The solution? Unlearning 🧠
