I really hate building and working on websites. None of them really do what I need them to. Every site builder is a super specialist. Some great at blogging. Others with video etc, etc. But if your project is an expansive story across multiple mediums… well good luck.

That’s a way saying that I have an easier time writing than talking about writing on social media. But hey, I’m trying 🤷🏽‍♂️

Writing is easier for me than social-media-ing… that’s a word right?

Everything changes. Nothing lasts forever. And that includes the bad things.

Perhaps the greatest tragedy isn’t rejection it’s the self-imposed silence. The stories we bury before they can be killed by committee.
How much sits in old boxes, waiting for courage rather than permission?

But the deeper revelation: entire mythologies I never even attempted to share. Creations so personal, so unwieldy, that I convinced myself they required no audience beyond their creator. Whether it’s good bad or mediocre (and of course I think it’s good, but who knows🤷🏽‍♂️)it feels like a waste.

At 51, I’ve begun cataloguing the archaeological layers of my own imagination. Decades of characters who never escaped notebooks. Worlds complete with languages no one has heard spoken. Stories that publishers deemed ‘too complex for existing markets.’

I haven't been able to work on this one as consistently as I would like. The day job, stress, and health all got in the way. But we are nearing completion. #WIP #art #artist #artsmidhudson #beaconarts #beaconny #newhamburgny

Realm of Black Sun: Utopia Beyond Shadows

In a world of incessant change and unparalleled technological feats, the quest for utopia has never been more relevant, yet paradoxically, more distant…. Continued here: realmofblacksun.am/category/rbs... #art #artist #artwork #artbyandré #RealmOfBlackSun

I’ve read more than once that Tolkien spent considerable time creating languages and maps for his stories. I find that I spend a LOT of time my characters personality profiles, and chronologies starting well before their births all the way to the end of times.

I don’t often use plot outlines, but they definitely help me to stay productive and writing even when I’m in a lower mode of energy. Which given that I have fibro and other issues, can be a problem more often than I would like to admit.

The funny thing about “anti aging experts”
is that they keep aging.

Just a reminder for artists.
Some artists suggested that we pin a summary of Glaze, Nightshade & other projects here. Instead, I will point them to Melissa Heikkilä's article on our lab and projects. It is the definitive story of who we are, how we got here, and why we do what we do.

The AI lab waging a guerrilla war over exploitative AI
The tools Glaze and Nightshade are giving artists hope that they can fight back against AI that hoovers internet data to train. Are they enough?

Gen AI companies need to be taxed at a very high rate. With the revenue being directed into the areas that are most adversely affected by them.

NASA, Yale, and Stanford scientists are considering “scientific exile” by moving to Europe to continue their research in response to Donald Trump’s anti-science policies, according to a French university.

There Is No Such Thing As Race

How perverse it is, these imaginary lines that have been drawn across humanity. These so-alled "races" that haunt our societies and poison our minds with their delusional boundaries. What malevolent delusions.
